WHEREAS, Arthur L. Jordan, Jr. has honorably served the City of Fort Walton
Beach since November 7, 1977, retiring as "Water Operations Manager" in the Engineering
Utility Services Water Operations Division; and
WHEREAS, Al made many contributions to the City through his long hours of
dedicated work, with his performance characterized by descriptions such as "hard working',
dedicated ", "knowledgeable ", "well respected ", and " dependable "; and
WHEREAS, Al ensured the City' s drinking water met all State and Federal
requirements during his 34 years of service to the community; and
WHEREAS, AI' s knowledge and abilities allowed him to manage the potable water
system to become one of the best in Northwest Florida. The City' s potable water system is
well respected by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Northwest
Florida Water Management District because of Al' s professionalism and management. He
went above and beyond when working to keep the City' s drinking water safe; his efforts are
commendable. He is a team player who inspires camaraderie in the work place; and
WHEREAS, At has retired from the City effective March 16, 2012, after more than
34 years of service.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mike Anderson, by virtue of the authority vested in me as
Mayor of the City of Fort Walton Beach, do wish to state publicly that At will be missed both
professionally and as a fellow employee, and I hereby extend our best wishes to
ARTHUR L. (AL) JORDAN, JR.
for much success and happiness in the future.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the
