SUBJECT: TDD Expenditure Recap; 1st quarter 2012-21013
DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: As required by Florida Statute 125.0104 (4) (e) and pursuant to the
Operations & Procedures Manual, the Tourist Development Council shall continuously review
expenditures of revenues from the tourist development trust fund and shall receive, at least
quarterly, expenditure reports from the county governing board or its designee.
This was done at the January 23, 2013 meeting of the Okaloosa County Tourist Development
Council.
BACKGROUND: Detailed first quarter expenditures, by approved budget line item, were
received from the Clerk's office and formatted into a report by the TDD's accounting technician
before being presented to the Tourist Development Council. That report, which is broken down
by Tourist Development Tax "penny" and the special assessments collected within the Municipal
Services Benefit Unit, is attached.
Also attached is a summary report of those same expenditures rolled up to the "level of
restriction" or "penny."
RECOMMENDATIONS: Discuss current reporting format, and provide additional direction as
determined necessary.
