Resolution 2007-21
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE FINAL MILLAGE RATE FOR THE
CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 2007 AND ENDING ON
SEPTEMBER 30, 2008, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, does hereby adopt
its final millage rate of 4.1986 mills to be levied upon all real and tangible personal property
located within the boundaries of the above named taxing authority.
Section 2. The final levy of 4.1986 mills is 5.0% less than the "rollback" rate of 4.4196
mills. The 5.0% percentage decrease represents the percentage decrease in property taxes, which
meets the requirements of House Bill 1B requiring that the City’s millage rate not exceed 95% of
the “rollback” rate unless adopted by a vote greater than simple majority of the governing body.
Section 3. This final millage rate of 4.1986 mills is to fund General Fund expenditures for
the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2007 and ending September 30, 2008.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval by the Council and
signature by the Mayor.
