BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: April 7, 2015
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Jason Autrey
SUBJECT: Hugo Lane right-of-way easement acceptance
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
BCC DISTRICT: 1
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Acceptance of a new turnaround area with a 100’ x 100’ right-of-
way easement at the south end of Hugo Lane.
BACKGROUND: Plans for Camille Subdivision, a residential subdivision located near the
south end of Hugo Lane were approved by the City of Crestview on 7/8/13. Hugo Lane is a
County maintained roadway with no existing right-of-way.
The previous turnaround area at the south end of Hugo Lane was encroaching on Lots 4 and 5,
Block B, of Camille Subdivision. The developer (Mr. Paul Cassady), after coordination with
Public Works, has constructed a new turnaround area at his expense and executed a right-of-way
easement to contain the new turnaround area. The new turnaround area is now located (north of
Lots 4 and 5) in another parcel adjoining the east side of Hugo Lane which is also owned by Mr.
Cassady. The subdivision being constructed by Mr. Cassady will not have direct access to Hugo
Lane; therefore there will be no additional traffic to the roadway.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve and record the 100’ x 100’ right of way easement and
accept the new turnaround area to enter into the County’s permanent maintenance system.
