DATE: November 18, 2014
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Ed Schroeder
SUBJECT: Initiate Bidding Process for Artifical Reef Construction
DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department
BCC DISTRICT: ALL
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to issue a Bid Invitation for the deployment of

desired). The Purchasing Department will coordinate the process and serve as a facilitator for
meetings of the review committee.
BACKGROUND: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has

and Eglin AFB. The County will be matching the grant with $100,000 approved for artificial
reefs, as well as an additional $75,000 available as a result of the BCC declining the deployment
of the Tenneco vessel.
