RESOLUTION 2021 - 24 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OR MAYOR PRO TEM TO SIGN BANK RELATED TO CITY- OWNED BANK ACCOUNT SIGNATORIES RESOLUTIONS APPROVED BY THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: WHEREAS, the City of Fort Walton Beach, Florida ( the " City") is a Florida municipal corporation and political subdivision of the State of Florida; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Walton Beach does business with various financial institutions which amongst other services provide checking accounts to conduct city business; and WHEREAS, from time to time it is necessary to add or remove signatories to City-owned accounts to allow for the City operations to run efficiently and to pay the City' s obligations; and WHEREAS, to add and remove signatories for municipal accounts usually requires that the City pass a corporate resolution provided by a bank or financial institution identifying those individuals employed by the City of Fort Walton Beach are authorized to conduct business on the City' s financial accounts; and WHEREAS, in order to more efficiently and effectively allow for the addition and removal of employees and to prevent unnecessary delays, the City Council finds that it would be prudent to pass a standing resolution allowing the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tern to execute those corporate resolutions quickly without the need to wait for a monthly meeting or to call a special meeting of the Fort Walton Beach City Council; and WHEREAS, this Resolution will allow for the City to conduct business more quickly and efficiently when it comes to adding or removing signatories on City-owned accounts. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recitals Adopted. Each recital stated above is adopted herein and confirmed. Section 2. Establishing Limited Authority in the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem. The City of Fort Walton Beach City Council authorizes the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tern to execute any resolution that adds or removes employees from City-owned financial accounts as may be necessary from time to time upon approval of such resolution by the City Manager and City Attorney.
