Destin Fishing Rodeo, 2014 Event Funding (Ed Schroeder) A staff report for the 2014 HOG Rally was provided by hardcopy in each Councilmember’s binder. Motion to Approve Funding for the 2013 Destin Seafood Festival, 2014 Emerald Coast Volleyball, 2014 Destin Fishing Rodeo, and 2014 HOG Rally as presented. Fire District Destin Funding Request (Chief Kevin Sasser) Chief Sasser attended this month’s meeting to provide answers to questions posed at last month’s meeting in regard to the request for additional funding for two acquisitions. The Council shared its concern that documentation previously requested had not been provided. The Council had voted not to support the request last month. Mr. Gossom, Mr. Rice and Ms. Joyce voiced concerns about the availability of funding and the reoccurring $40K for personnel. Motion to Approve Funding to the Destin Fire District in the amount of $80K RESULT: MOTION FAILED [4-4] MOVER: Dixon SECONDER: Rigdon AYES: Guidry, Rice NAYES: Joyce, Gossom, Owen, Peterson The Council discussed the possibility of funding the one time expenditures for the tower ($25K) and ATV ($15K), totaling $40K. Next TDC Meeting (Dale Peterson) a. Thursday November 20, 2014 2:00 p.m. Emerald Coast Convention Center VII. Public Comment (3 minutes each) Cathy Foster/Okaloosa Island resident; stated that it is commendable that Mr. Schroeder has identified the need for a five year plan. However, she does not think it is a good idea to investigate a hotel attached to the convention center. RJ Murdock/Emerald Coast TV; informed the Council the Emerald Coast Classic would stream live during the two days preceding Thanksgiving weekend. The Council may purchase commercials during those times, in addition to the sponsorship opportunity. VIII.
