BOARD, TO DELETE TERM LIMITATION FOR
CHAIRPERSON AND VICE- CHAIRPERSON OF THE
MUNICIPAL PLANNING BOARD; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT W ALTON BEACH, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. AUTHORITY AND INTENT
The authority for enactment of this Ordinance is Section 166. 021 ( 1), Florida Statutes
2004). It is intended that the amendments made by this ordinance will allow each board,
committee, and agency of the City to determine any term limit of the chair and vice- chair for each
board, committee, and agency. It is further intended that term limitations will be addressed in the
rules of procedures for each board, committee, and agency.
SECTION II. AMENDMENT OF SECTION 2- 57( b), TERMS OF MEMBERS,
LIMITATIONS
Section 2- 57( b) of the Code of Ordinances is amended as follows to correct an
Board. The
inconsistency regarding the term limitations for members of the Code Enforcement
language being deleted is inconsistent with section 162. 05, Florida Statutes ( 2005).

SECTION III. AMENDMENT OF SECTION 20- 65( a), OFFICERS; QUORUM; RULES
OF PROCEDURE
Section 20- 65( a), Officers, Quorum, Rules of Procedure, of the Code of Ordinances is
amended as follows.
Sec. 20- 65. Officers; quorum; rules of procedure.
a) Chairperson and vice- chairperson. At the last meeting of each
calendar year the members of themunicipal planning board shall elect a
chairpersonand vice- chairperson from among its members to serve as officers of
