BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: November 1, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Request approval of a revised purchase amount for Transit Buses DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approval of increased amount to purchase coordination transportation mini-buses from the State Contract #TRIPS-15-MB-RFP for a total cost of $264,400. BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Okaloosa County has a contract with Maruti Fleet and Management, LLC to provide coordinated transportation services for the County. This service is provided with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding. This funding may be utilized to purchase new buses to enhance the service. On June 7, 2016 the Board approved the purchase of four (4) new mini-buses to be purchased as recommended by Maruti. The purchase was approved to be split into two (2) different specifications; a FL-90-X761-00 and a FL-90-X761- 99. The approved cost of the purchase was $127,368 and $119,302 respectively ($246,670 total). The purchase orders have been released to the vendor. The specifications have been reviewed by the vendor and it was discovered that the preferred seating was not included in the original pricing. The revised amount will be $134,316 and $130,084 respectively ($264,400 total). Purchasing will issue new requisitions when/if the Board approves the increased purchase amount. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the purchase of four (4) FTA mini-buses from the State Contract #TRIPS-15-MB-RFP for a revised total cost of $264,400 to support the coordinated transportation services. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the purchase of four (4) FTA mini- buses from the State Contract #TRIPS-15-MB-RFP for a revised total cost of $264,400 to support the coordinated transportation services.
