DESTIN BEACH ULTRA RUNS EVENT ACTION PLAN - 2017 PURPOSE Coordinate a state of readiness and an initial event action plan for the Destin 50 Beach Ultra. This running race will take place on the beach between Destin, and Seagrove. The entire 50 mile/50K race will take place in the sand. The race will start at TOPS'L Resort--run east along the water to Seagrove Beach, FI(15 miles)--turn around head back through TOPS'L(15 miles)--run west to the Destin Pass(10 miles)--turn around and finish at TOPS'L(10 miles)--Total 50 Miles. The 24 hours course will consist of a 2 mile loop from Tops’l west one mile and back. The 100 mile participants will run the 24 hour course till 0500 on the 15, DATE Saturday, February 18-19th, 2017 EVENT SUMMARY Friday, February 17, 2017 . Command Briefing 6:00pm at Topsail Club. Signs will be posted. Saturday, February 18,2017 e 5k Backporch 0800 e Paramedic coverage with first aid supplies e 1600hrs 24 hour and 100 mile runners begin at Tops’1 Sunday, February 19th, 2017 . Individual 50mile/50K; Team 50 mile. Race begins at 5:00am. 100 mile runners will enter 50 mile course if they have met or exceded 50 miles as of 0500. . Approximately 250 athletes are expected to participate in this event! . 1600hrs 24 hour runners cutoff time . 1900 Course closed
