RESOLUTION 2016-_____ RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF OKALOOSA COUNTY TO APPROVE A TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE PURSUANT TO COMPLETION OF BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation (“Department”) is currently undertaking the design and right-of-way acquisitions phases of one bridge replacement project in Okaloosa County, Florida, and Okaloosa County (“County”) proposes to undertake all other elements of the project, including but not limited to, construction, construction inspection, utilities, permits and other associated tasks, the terms of which shall be governed by a separate Local Agency Program Agreement to be executed between the Department and the County at a later date; and WHEREAS, this bridge replacement project includes: FPID Number 433910-1, Steele Road over Penny Creek, Bridge Number 574013 (the “Project”); and WHEREAS, it is necessary that Steele Road, owned and maintained by Okaloosa County, be temporarily closed for an approximate duration of 180 days and there will be a detour available using West Dodson Road to Dodson Road to Griffith Mill Road to successfully complete the PROJECT; and WHEREAS, said road closure will reduce construction time and costs, minimize right of way purchase and/or construction easements, and/or minimize wetland impacts; and WHEREAS, during construction, the County will perform the road closure in accordance with the Construction Plans dated June 24, 2016, including any revisions thereof as exist on file with the Department for this Project (the “Plans”), which are herein incorporated by reference; and WHEREAS, the County supports the Department’s efforts in regards to the Department’s design and right-of-way acquisition duties for the Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA that: 1. The Board of County Commissioners does hereby support, confirm and approve of the Department’s design of the Project and the road closure as stated above which is further identified in the Plans. 2. The Board of County Commissioners does hereby agree that the County will continue to maintain County owned detour roads during construction of the PROJECT. 3. A certified copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the Florida Department of Transportation at 1074 Highway 90, Chipley, Florida 32428. 4. This resolution shall be effective upon passage.
