STATEMENT OF ISSUE: [PUR] Seeking Board approval to purchase one (1) New 2014
Diesel Truck Tractor, Tandem Axle, 80,000 pounds gross combined weight rating (GCWR)
(6x4) for Water & Sewer.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The Water & Sewer Department has requested to purchase
one (1) New 2014 Diesel Truck Tractor, Tandem Axle, 80,000 lb. GCWR (6x4). Bids were
opened on April 2, 2014 and two bids were received. The lowest bidder meeting specifications
was Orlando Freightliner at $114,997. This truck tractor is to replace the vehicle that was a total
loss due to an accident. Funding is available from the insurance claim and budget transfers from
4120-563346 as referenced in the attached email.
OPTIONS: Award or Reject purchase of one (1) New 2014 Diesel Truck Tractor, Tandem Axle,
80,000 lb. GCWR (6x4) from Orlando Freightliner for $114,997.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approving purchase of one (1) New 2014 Diesel
Truck Tractor, Tandem Axle, 80,000 lb. GCWR (6x4) from Orlando Freightliner for $114,997.
