16. Request approval to award contract for auction services to
Global Auction Services and authorize County Administrator to
execute the contract
Mr. Parisot said there are two trailers which should be pulled
off the auction list and transferred to the Sheriff. He also
stated that he does not want the two custom built motorcycles on
the auction list. Mr. Amunds said he can see pulling the two
portable buildings (i.e., trailers as referred to by Mr.
Parisot) off the auction list but feels the county could set a
minimum bid on the motorcycles. Mr. Brannon stated they have
been holding the motorcycles for some time and some action needs
to be taken. Mr. Windes’ opinion was to cut our losses and run
with it. Mr. Boyles said it is his understanding this is not a
specific set of items to be auctioned but a master contract for
auction services.
Mr. Brannon reported staff attempted to secure quotes for these
services and local companies were only interested if the
motorcycles were included. He said Global Auction Services of
Tallahassee was the only firm which could handle the sale of the
motorcycles individually. Mr. Boyles made motion, seconded by
Mr. Harris, to award the contract to Global Auction Services and
to transfer the two portable buildings to the Sheriff's Office,
