BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 7, 2014 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: John Hofstad SUBJECT: Rocky Bayou Drive Sidewalk Improvements (Design LAP) DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: 5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has issued a LAP Agreement to Okaloosa County in the amount of $26,213.00 for Design of the Rocky Bayou Drive Sidewalk Improvements Project. Design must be completed by December 31, 2014. There is no funding match required by Okaloosa County within this Agreement. BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS: The Rocky Bayou Drive Sidewalk Improvements Project was first submitted to the West Florida Regional Planning Council’s Transportation Enhancement Program for consideration in 2000. The project was found to be eligible for funding and has been supported by annual resubmittals since that time. The project will consist of adding 5' pedestrian sidewalk along the south side of Rocky Bayou Drive from Forest Road to Huntington Circle in Niceville, FL. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove execution of the LAP Agreement and authorization for staff to administer all future related documents during the term of the grant including, but not limited to, the Resolution of Authorization and subsequent permission to advertise the Request for Qualifications (RFQ).
