Major Vaughn enjoys an excellent reputation for integrity. His honesty is refreshing. He
exercises sound judgment and considers potential outcomes for his decisions. He is a strategic
thinker, who applies experience, evidence, and academics to his planning processes. His skills as
a communicator are superb. He is personable and manages to inject humor appropriately to
stimulate enthusiastic compliance and cooperation from others, while maintaining a command
presence. He regularly demonstrates the ability to alter his approach to varying circumstances
and personalities to achieve goals and requires very little supervision or direction. He considers
risks or consequences associated with his actions carefully and is wise enough to “look before he
leaps.” He understands instructions and seeks ways to improve security, operations, and
processes instinctively and with tremendous passion.
Major Vaughn is fully prepared and well-equipped to assume the position of Chief Correctional
Officer.
