"Wayne" Steele, has requested that the segments of Redstone Avenue that lie East of Brookmeade Drive, be transferred to the City of Crestview for the purpose of maintenance and future upgrades of the right-of-way by the city. BACKGROUND: Redstone Avenue was constructed sometime after 1996 by a private contractor and has been maintained by the city of Crestview since that time. A portion of right- of-way was originally deeded to the Board of County Commissioners, however this right-of-way was never formally accepted by the Board. The City of Crestview would like to clarify that they own all interest in the right-of-way along Redstone Avenue and has requested the Board of County Commissioners deed the right-of-way to the City to clarify their ownership. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove the requested transfer of right-of-way along Redstone Avenue to the City of Crestview via execution of Quit-Claim deeds. BACKGROUND: In March of 2012, the county entered into a lease with Elder Services for approximately 6,800 s.f. in the old FWB hospital. Then, in November 2012, the Board approved funding to renovate another section of the facility to relocate Elder Services. Since that time, Elder Services has requested to remain in the current occupied location. Staff was approached by the Executive Director of Opportunity Inc. with a request to use the space previously planned for Elder Services in the old FWB hospital for a desperately needed location for the organization's administrative offices to facilitate expansion of homeless apartments on Lovejoy Road. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends approval of plan to allow Elder Services to remain in their current location and allow staff to develop a lease agreement for Opportunity Inc. to use space previously planned for Elder Services. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: Ernie Padgett, County Administrator Packet Pg. 652
