RE: Mid-Bay Regional Activity Center
Dear Mr. Kampert:
In response to your letter dated January 21, 2014 related to Okaloosa County’s request for the
Department to review a proposed addition of land to the Mid-Bay Regional Activity Center (RAC),
we have no comments at this time. The Department understands that the Department of Economic
Opportunity (DEO) has also been requested to review information regarding the expansion plans and
has determined that the information contained in your letter appears to be sufficient for DEO to
determine that the project meets the criteria for the RAC designation and is consistent with and
supported by the adopted Okaloosa County Comprehensive Plan.
It is also understood that a comprehensive plan amendment to recognize the Mid-Bay RAC
expansion will be submitted in the future to add the RAC to the Okaloosa Future Land Use Map.
We look forward to receiving the amendment and if we can be of father assistance, please feel free to
give me a call at (850) 330-1530.
Sincerely,
Virgie Bowen, AICP
