BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: November 4, 2014
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Don Vanderhoek
SUBJECT: Second Amendment and Task Order 17 to World Fiber Technologies, Inc.
DEPARTMENT: Information Systems
BCC DISTRICT: All
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Board is requested to approve the Second Amendment to
World Fiber Technologies, Inc. Contract C10-1838-IS as well as Task Order 17 in the amount of
$100,000.00.
BACKGROUND: The Board had approved the World Fiber Technologies, Inc. Maintenance
Contract for the Okaloosa County Fiber Optic Network on November 17, 2010. The Second
Amendment to this Contract will extend the Contract Expiration from November 17, 2014 to
March 17, 2015. This contract extension is necessary as there is fiber optic work that is
commencing and will not be complete by the time the contract expires. Although the preparation
for a new request for proposal was started well in advance of the contract expiration, the process
will not be complete before the current contract expiration date of November 17, 2014.
The Board is also requested to approve Task Order 17 in the amount of $100,000.00. This task
order is for the on-going maintenance of the Fiber Optic Network which will cover necessary
maintenance services until a new contract is in place.
Both the Second Amendment and Task Order 17 have been through the Purchasing review
process.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends the Board authorize the Chairman to execute the
Second Amendment to World Fiber Technologies, Inc. Contract C10-1838-IS as well as Task
Order 17.
