STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
The BCC is requested to award the construction contract with Bill Smith Electric, Inc. to
construct the Remote Over-Night (RON) Apron High Mast Lighting project at Northwest Florida
Regional Airport. This award shall be for $378,840.00.
BACKGROUND:
Bids were received for the RON Apron High Mast Lighting project on July 12, 2012. The project
includes three 56-ft tall high mast lights to illuminate the RON apron and a portion of the
commercial service apron, two 400HZ, 28.5V DC auxiliary power units to provide power to
parked aircraft, and the associated power distribution systems. This agenda item authorizes the
award of the construction contract to Bill Smith Electric, Inc. for $378,840.00 in accordance with
the contract documents. Funding for the project will be provided by Passenger Facility Charges.
