BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: April 7, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Don Turner SUBJECT: Crestview Courthouse Project - Modified Fee Schedule DEPARTMENT: Facility Maintenance BCC DISTRICT: 3 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request BCC approval of the modified fee schedule for the Design- Build team for the Crestview Courthouse Project. BACKGROUND: At the March 3, 2015, BCC meeting, the Board approved the new concept for the renovation/addition to the Crestview Courthouse as presented. The Design-Build (D-B) team appeared at that meeting and delivered a presentation on the genesis of the new concept and an estimate of the probable costs associated with fully building the scheme. The D-B fees are calculated as a percentage of the costs to build the project. A New fee schedule is included that reflects the D-B fees associated with the expanded scope of the project. While the total D-B fees were properly computed, the balance remaining to be paid is in error. A math error occurred when computing the balance of the fees that would remain to be paid after adjusting for the expanded scope of the project. The fees that have already been paid to date were accidentally deducted twice. The change order being presented here has been corrected for that error. Staff recommends BCC approval of the proposed fee schedule adjustment. OPTIONS: Approve the proposed fee schedule or provide direction to staff regarding the fee schedule. RECOMMENDATIONS: Request approval of the modified fee schedule for the Design-Build team for the Crestview Courthouse Project and authorization for the Chairman to execute all necessary documents.
