Public Content In order to encourage equal representation of all school boards in the FSBA legislative efforts, Article XI, Section 1 of the FSBA Bylaws calls for each district school board to annually designate a board member and an alternate to serve on the FSBA Advocacy (previously called Legislative) Committee. These Advocacy Committee members serve as the key architects of the FSBA Legislative Platform and as essential advocates in our local, state, and federal lobbying efforts. Mr. Bryant currently serves as the Board's representative and Dr. Kelley serves as the alternate. The committee term is from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. A policy change was approved at the Annual Joint Conference (December 2019) that restructured committees, placing the Advocacy Committee as the overarching, statewide committee. This change also shifted the Legislative Committee to a smaller, more focused subcommittee of the Advocacy Committee, alongside the Federal Relations subcommittee. Motion & Voting Motion to designate Tim Bryant to serve as the Board's Advocacy Representative and Diane Kelley to serve as the alternate on the Florida School Boards Association Advocacy Committee through June 2021.
