STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approval of and authorize Chairman to execute
contract with Nabors, Giblin, & Nickerson for services as County Attorney commencing April 1,
2014.
BACKGROUND: The current County Attorney submitted his resignation to be effective July 1,
2014. The county has concurrently accepted employment applications from individuals and
proposals from firms.
At the February 18, 2014 BCC meeting, the Board approved staff negotiating a contract with
Nabors, Giblin, & Nickerson for services as County Attorney. Staff completed this negotiation
and the resulting contract is attached.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove contract.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends Board approval of contract with Nabors, Giblin, &
Nickerson for services as County Attorney commencing April 1, 2014.
