BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:

1. The City of Fort Walton Beach received notice on May 5, 2009, from the
United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ( HUD) that the
City could receive additional funding through the Community Development Block
Grant Recovery ( CDBG -R) program. To receive this funding, the City Council
must amend its CDBG Annual Action Plan for fiscal year 2008 -09 and submit it to
HUD no later than June 5, 2009. To expedite the process and to ensure that
CDBG -R grants are awarded in a timely manner, while preserving reasonable
citizen participation process, HUD is waiving the requirements that a grantee
strictly follow its citizen participation plan for this amendment. HUD is shortening
the minimum time for citizen' s comments to seven ( 7) calendar days and is
requiring the substantial amendment materials to be posted on the City' s official
