BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: September 15, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Elliot Kampert SUBJECT: Supplemental Joint Participation Assistance Number 1 for Commuter Assistance Grant DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Staff requests that the Board authorize the Chairman to sign the Supplemental Joint Participation Agreement Number 1 (JPA) FY 2016 Commuter Assistance Grant Funding and to sign the Authorizing Resolution. BACKGROUND: The Public Works and Water & Sewer departments each operate commuter vans with routes from Crestview and Niceville to Fort Walton Beach and one route from West County to Fort Walton Beach. The grant funding will support operating cost for 8 vehicles and approximately 31 commuters per day. Upon approval, FDOT will reimburse the county $10,000, or 50 percent of the costs to operate commuter vehicles; whichever is less, through September 30, 2017. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends Board authorize the Chairman to sign the attached JPA for FY 2016 Commuter Grant Funding and to sign the Authorizing Resolution as well as all future grant documents during the term of the grant.
