• The Sheriff proposes to add 10,000 square feet
of space to the Administrative Complex.
– This solution would consolidate all Administration,
Investigation, and Central District Patrol functions
under one roof.
– This solution provides significant cost savings, both
for the initial construction as well as continuing
yearly costs as compared to placement at the Annex.

• Cost Savings & Efficiencies Gained
– Initial cost savings come from the elimination of
approximately 6,000 square feet from the annex project.
• The OCSO would need approximately 16,000 square feet at
the annex as apposed to approximately 10,000 at the
administrative complex.
– Decrease complexity of construction at the annex.
• OCSO functions would need separate entrances, elevators, and
secure parking due to the security requirements of our
investigations and patrol functions.

• Cost Savings & Efficiencies Gained
– Elimination of $126,000 in rent for Investigations
• The OCSO administration complex solution gets out of this
lease obligation approximately six months earlier than moving
investigations to the annex, saving approx. $63,000.
– Reduction of the OCSO facility footprint by over 8,000
square feet. Cuts utility, janitorial, facility maintenance,
and associated costs by over 40%
• Current footprint is over 18,000 sq.ft., Annex solution would be 16,000 sq.ft. , OCSO
Admin solution is near 10,000 sq.ft.

• Cost Savings & Efficiencies Gained
– Reduction in Human Resources. Consolidation of
facilities would reduce duplicated public service
access points.
• Current facilities require four separate locations for public
service lobbies.
• The OCSO Admin solution would cut that to one
location cutting over $100,000 in yearly personnel costs.

• Cost Savings & Efficiencies Gained
– The benefits of having improved command and
control are immeasurable. In the current
environment of increased citizen concern for fiscal
and operational oversight, leadership needs to be
close to those carrying out the mission. This
solution best fits that citizen mandate.
– This may be the last opportunity to consolidate our
operations for many years to come.
