Dear Mr. Stage
Thank you for your recent request to lease property adjacent to the Eglin Air Force Base
runway on which to construct a new flight line fire station. As you know, this initiative has been
underway for quite a while and we are now ready to negotiate the lease terms, prepare the lease
and staff for approval to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force.
As a result of significant pre-planning on both of our parts, we have accomplished many of
the actions required for the lease and do not anticipate any issues with the lease approval and
execution. This represents another mutually beneficial milestone in our long and successful
relationship. As you seek approval with the Okaloosa Board of County Commissioners to
proceed with lease negotiations, design and construction of the fire station facility, my staff will
continue the process required to complete the required lease instrument.
