STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Requesting approval of final payment to Emergency Systems
Services, Inc (ESSI). For county wide generator maintenance and repair awarded under Contract
#C09-1752-FM. The contract expired on September 30, 2015 and was amended to extend it
through January 1, 2016.
BACKGROUND: On October 1, 2009 contract #C09-1752-FM was awarded to Emergency
Systems Services, Inc (ESSI). The contract amount was $13,099.98. The original contract was
amended during its term as additional generators were added in the county system. The final
renewal was approved which extended the contract from October 1, 2014 through September 30,
2015 and subsequently extended through January 1, 2016, with a contract cost of $16,776.54.
The contract has now expired and final payment is requested.
The contract for the generator maintenance was re-bid. On January 5, 2016 the Board approved the
awarding of the bid to Emergency Standby Power (ESP) for the annual maintenance and repair of
emergency generators. The new contract price is $27,123.05 annually for three (3) years with two (2)
one (1) year renewal options.
OPTIONS: Approve/disapprove the final payment to Emergency Systems Services, Inc. for
services performed under Contract #C09-1752-FM for generator repairs.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the final payment in the amount of $367.50 for Invoices
#214362 and #214618. Payment to be made to Emergency Systems Services, Inc. in accordance
with Contract #C09-1752-FM and with payment Contract #C09-1752-FM will be closed.
