(CRA) Ad -Hoc Committee Appointment 1. BACKGROUND: 1. 1 On May 22, 2012, the City Council adopted Res. 2012 -1 establishing a CRA Citizen Ad -Hoc Committee. The purpose of the committee is to identify actions that the City can implement to support development and redevelopment within the CRA area; to further the goals and strategies outlined in the 2012 CRA Plan update; and shall recommend strategies and actions that the City Council may undertake to encourage and promote reinvestment within the CRA area. 1. 2 The committee shall consist of seven ( 7) members to be appointed by the CRA and shall continue in existence until one ( 1) year from their first meeting date unless extended by the City Council. 1. 3 Membership is limited to residents of the Fort Walton Beach CRA area and persons who engage in business activity within the boundaries of the Fort Walton Beach CRA (per May 22, 2012 Council Meeting Minutes). 2. DISCUSSION: 2. 1 At their meeting of August 14, 2012, Council appointed six members to the Board; the City Clerk has since received a seventh application as follows: 1) Glenn Wenzel 29 Country Club Road Shalimar, FL 2. 2 At anytime Council may submit a nominee for consideration and an application must be filled out prior to an appointment. 3.
