About this source

Article VI, clauses 2–3: supremacy and oaths. Article II, §1, final clause: presidential oath. Article II, §4: impeachment. Article I, §3, clause 7: impeachment judgment and subsequent criminal proceedings. This record describes the 1787 instrument, not a consolidated text incorporating later amendments. Article I’s impeachment clause preserves liability according to law; it does not itself define a general crime of unconstitutional conduct.
