STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approval of a contract payment to Specialty
Vehicles, Inc. (FleetCo) (C14-2085-PW).
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On March 5, 2015, Okaloosa County entered into an
agreement with Specialty Vehicles Southeast, Inc. (FleetCo) for the refurbishment of two (2)
trolleys. One of the trolley's refurbishment is complete and has been invoiced. The work on the
trolley has been approved by Fleet and has been done exceptionally well. The work is
substantially complete on the second trolley and the work is exceptional as well. The contract
included a performance bond; however, the bond was not received prior to the notice to proceed
being issued. Staff requests approval to pay the invoice for the refurbishment of the first trolley
in the amount of $97,921.75 and waive the bond requirement for the contract. The final payment
for the contract will be presented to the Board upon completion of the second trolley.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the contract payment to Specialty Vehicles, Inc. (FleetCo) in the
amount of $97,921.75 and waive the bond requirement for the contract.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the contract payment to Specialty
Vehicles, Inc. (FleetCo) in the amount of $97,921.75 and waive the bond requirement for the
contract.
