TOURIST DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM DATE: March 24, 2016 TO: Tourist Development Council FROM: Ed Schroeder, Tourist Development Department Director SUBJECT: 654Limo Funding Request STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Consideration of a funding request by 654Limo Chauffeured Services. BACKGROUND: 654Limo Chauffeured Services has submitted an Operational & Capital Funding Request form to wrap the back side of chauffeured vehicles with Emerald Coast branding. However, this marketing agreement would be more appropriately evaluated in the context of the annual strategic marketing plan. As part of the County’s transit services contract with Maruti Fleet, buses will be wrapped with Emerald Coast branding at no charge. The buses will run on a regular schedule and are highly visible to visitors. Wrapping private business vehicles at a cost when public transit is being wrapped at no cost is not a prudent use of tax dollars. OPTIONS: Approve or Deny RECOMMENDATION: Deny the funding request.
