PROPOSED WRECKER ORDINANCE
A Public Workshop to discuss the
following wrecker ordinance will be held in
the Fort Walton Beach Council Chambers, located at 107 Miracle SW, on Strip Parkway,
Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at 5: 30 p. m.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON
BEACH, FLORIDA; PROVIDING AUTHORITY;
REPEALING IN ITS ENTIRETY THE CURRENT CHAPTER
8. 11, WRECKERS; ADOPTING ANEW CHAPTER 1 1. 12,
ENTITLED WRECKER OPERATIONS AND SERVICES;
REGULATING WRECKER OPERATIONS ON PRIVATE
PROPERTY; ESTABLISHING WRECKER ROTATION
PROGRAM; REPEALING CONFLICTING PROVISIONS;
AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Technical discussion will include maximum fees and charges,
hearing officer
procedures, and other wrecker requirements to be enacted by the ordinance. Wrecker
company owners and the public are encouraged to attend this workshop to provide
comment directly to the City' s Attorney and Police Chief.
