To provide funding for airport planning, airport
Improvement, land acquisition, and airport economic
development.

Local Government
For airport planning and improvement grants, the
Department may provide up to 50 percent of the
project funds for commercial service airports, and up
to 80 percent for general aviation airports, if federal
funding is not available. The Department may provide
up to 50 percent of airport development funds to build
on-airport revenue-producing capital improvements at
general aviation airports. The Department may also
provide interest-free loans for 75 percent of the cost of
airport land purchases for both commercial service and
general aviation airports. These loans are to be repaid
to the normal Florida airport Improvement program
funding ratio when federal funds become available or in
10 years, whichever comes first.
