Dear Mr. Curry:
The Mid-Bay Bridge Authority respectfully requests to be placed on the March 19, 2013 agenda
for the 8:30 a.m. meeting of the Board of County Commissioners in Fort Walton Beach in order
to update the Board regarding the 2013 Legislation involving changes to the Mid-Bay Bridge
Authority.
Attached is Section 26 and 27 of SB1132 that impact both Okaloosa County and the Mid-Bay
Bridge Authority. Section 26 creates the Regional Tollway Authority Act and specifically
creates three regional tollway authorities, one of which is the Okaloosa-Bay Regional Tollway
Authority, serving the area of Okaloosa, Walton and Bay Counties. Section 27 transfers the
governance and control of the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority to the Okaloosa-Bay Authority. The
Mid-Bay Bridge Authority opposes this measure and would like to discuss it with the Board.
