BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 19, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Ed Schroeder SUBJECT: Jim Foreman Appointment DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department BCC DISTRICT: 2,4,5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request confirmation of the City of Destin’s appointment of Jim Foreman to the Okaloosa County Tourist Development Council. BACKGROUND: Pursuant to F.S. 125.0104(4)(e), two members of the council shall be elected municipal officials, at least one of whom shall be from the most populous municipality in the county or subcounty special taxing district in which the tax is levied. Currently the cities of Fort Walton Beach and Destin are represented. The City of Destin’s representative, Tuffy Dixon, has resigned. The City of Destin has appointed Jim Foreman to fill the municipality’s seat on the Council. OPTIONS: Approve or Deny RECOMMENDATION: Confirm the City of Destin’s appointment of Jim Foreman to the Okaloosa County Tourist Development Council. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
