minute at 160 feet of total dynamic head
pump capable of pumping over 2, 000 gallons per
TDH). In case of an emergency, this pump can be connected to the pump station by- pass
system and used to assist pumping that station.
The requirement for the stainless steel shaft, wear plate, and impeller is to prevent damage to
these parts when the unit may sit idle waiting for its next job. The corrosive nature of sewage
and storm water will take its toll on cast iron and carbon steel.
Similarly for the trailer, hot dipped galvanized is required to protect the undercarriage and fuel
tank from the effects of corrosion over a long period of time.
120 gallons fuel capacity will extend the runtime of this unit, which can be left unattended using
the automatic start and shut down option that was specified. Lower fuel capacity will increase
the maintenance level of effort for the service personnel tending the pump.
Units # 1, # 2, and # 3 did not address the options.
The warranty offered for Units # 1, # 2, and # 3 was for only 1 year. The J. H. Wright and
Associates unit comes with a 2- year warranty.
Based on the information provided by the bidders, Units # 1, # 2, and # 3 failed to meet the
specification requirements and are not recommended for award.
