STATEMENT OF ISSUE: [PUR] Seeking Board Direction Regarding Capital Improvement
Financing Options.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On August 19, 2014 the Board approved to solicit quotes for
a non-qualified bank loan to fund capital improvements. The Request for Quotes was advertised
on the Florida Purchasing Group (BidNet) website and an email notification was sent to 41 local
and national banks. The Quotes were due on September 5, 2014 and two (2) were received. The
quotes have been reviewed by Mark Galvin, Senior Vice President, First Southwest Company
(C04-1098-BCC) and he has provided a written summary (attached). Staff is requesting Board
direction regarding Capital Improvement Financing Options.
OPTIONS: Staff requests direction regarding Capital Improvement Financing Options.
