STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board consideration of two sample Panhandling
Ordinances and give staff direction to further explore drafting like ordinance for Okaloosa
County.
BACKGROUND: At the request of a Commissioner, staff was asked to research panhandling
ordinances from other counties and municipalities in Florida for legislation that may find
applicability in Okaloosa County. Attached are two ordinances, from Hernando and Orlando, for
the Board’s consideration.
