BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: May 3, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Ed Schroeder SUBJECT: Monthly Reconciliation of Promotional Reserves DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department BCC DISTRICT: 2,4,5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Providing the monthly reconciliation of the use of promotional reserve funds. BACKGROUND: Per the adopted FY16 Strategic Marketing Plan: “Promotional Reserve funds may be appropriated in accordance with County approval authority and with concurrence of the TDC Chairman. A monthly reconciliation of the use of promotional reserve funds will be provided to the TDC and BCC for informational purposes.” Promotional reserves in the amount of $100,000 were budgeted, of which $47,664 has been previously appropriated. During April, promotional reserve funds in the amount of $3,500 were used for Meetings Today Magazine (TO 187). Furthermore, $10K was allocated to leisure media to enhance the VisitFlorida America’s Best Vacations newspaper insert (TO 176). Promotional reserves in the amount of $38,836 remain available for appropriation. OPTIONS: N/A RECOMMENDATION: For informational purposes only; no action required.
