STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Airports Department is requesting the Board of County
Commissioners' (Board) approval to advertise for a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a company
to provide the Airport Terminal Advertising at the Destin - Fort Walton Beach Airport.
Additionally, the Board is requested to approve appointment of the following RFP review
committee members: Ms. Stephanie Herrick, Okaloosa County Airports, Ms. Kathy Newby,
Okaloosa County Public Information Officer, and Ms. Trudy Romjue, owner Romjue
Advertising.
BACKGROUND: The current Airport Advertising Terminal contract expires May 15, 2016 and
we request to enter into a new contract for a company to provide Airport Terminal Advertising at
the Destin - Fort Walton Beach Airport effective May 16, 2016. The contract term will be for
five (5) years and at the end of this term, the selected company shall have a one time option to
renew for an additional five (5) years. A recommendation and contract will be brought back to
the Board for review and approval following the Purchasing Policy guidelines and the RFP
process.
OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends Board approval to advertise the RFP for Airport
Terminal Advertising Concession and the appointment of review committee members.
