Okaloosa County BOCC — December 15, 2015 — Resolution Establishing Procedure for Liaison Appointments

RESOLUTION 15-____ A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF OKALOOSA COUNTY ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONERS AS LIAISON TO COUNTY DEPARTMENTS AND OTHER BOARDS AND ORGANIZATIONS WITHIN THE COUNTY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has historically appointed members to act as liaison to various County departments to facilitate the coordination of their activities with the Board; and WHEREAS, in addition to the appointment of liaisons to County departments, commissioners are also appointed to serve on or coordinate with the activities of other formally established boards, commissions, authorities, cooperatives; and WHEREAS, these liaison appointments facilitate the coordination of information between the County departments, and the other organizations, and the Board of County Commissioners, which facilitates the fulfillment of their respective responsibilities; and WHEREAS, as a result of the number of liaison appointments, the Board deems it in its best interest to establish a procedure to efficiently make these appointments. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF OKALOOSA COUNTY AS FOLLOWS: 1. The above recitals are incorporated herein as if they had been set forth in their entirety. 2. The Board does hereby assign and delegate to the Chairman of the Board of County Commission, the responsibility to assign and appoint members of the County Commission to serve as liaisons for the various County departments and to the other formally established boards, commissions, authorities and cooperatives. 3. The Board determines that the assignment and appointment of members of the County Commission to serve as liaisons to the various County departments and to the other formally established boards, commissions, authorities and cooperatives is an administrative function which may be delegated to the Chairman. 4. This resolution shall be effective upon adoption.
