Pee bed OM] - Crestwiew Bal dh 4/10/14 Okaloosa County Dept. of Growth I Management 402 Brookmeade Drive Crestview, FI 32539 Ref * Bpgeud To Whom it may concern; lam writing in response to a latter | received 04 3/21/14 from Westarra Development, infarming me oF a pending land develooment project locate adjacent ta my praperty on Lake Silver Rd, in Crestview, Fi. My concerns are as follows: in the letter to the County from Westerra, on page 2, there are several things that we disagree with or are inacurrate. First, the power supply company is nat Gulf Power, it is CHELCO, Sacond, the staternent that “the proposed development will not adversely affect owners of nearby properties, and tt will not interfere with tha use and/or enjoyment of properties by nearby property owners.” This is not true. We own property located at 2725 Lake Silver Road. The proposed entrance off of Lake Silver Rd is just west of my driveway and across from another large develapments’ entrance. We are opposed to having an entrance ANYWHERE on this “5” curve that extends past Currie Road, Lake Silver Raad is over populated with built out developments. The traffic has increased dramatically aver the past 2 years, as thase homes get sold. This area of Lake Silver Road has several blind curves. There are no shoulders for safe walking, or for our children to walk to the bus stops in the morning. The lighting is poor, as wail, We wauld like the County to request that the entrance of this proposed development be made after the sharp right hand curva located at the Phelps farm, west of the current entrance proposals. We believe, based on conversations and land recorcls, that the Curries own land directly across from the development called Carnagie Hills. We propose that they purchase the easement to place the entrance over there. There is a longer straight away and visibility of oncoming traffic is much better than where i is being proposed. The traffic speeds are 45+, with a posted spead limit of 35. Getting out of my driveway Is increasingly difficult with the speed of the traffic coming around the blind “5” curves. Additionally, the number of vehicles traveling this roact has tripled in the past 2 years. The road has no paved shaulders for peagle to walk, let alone our children, We have elementary aged children and they can no longer cross the rad on their own, because we fear they will ba hit by a speeding car or truck. The entrance to the Sliver Oaks development, is diagonal to my property drive, and the residants using, this entrance are expariencing the same issues, Maybe as part of this development the county can pave shoulders for walking. If traffic can’t be controlled to go slower, then for the sake of safaty the entrance needs to be moved to a better, more visable spot. We purchased this home 2 years ago, because of its peaceful country feel. We have oretty much lost what was left of that with this development. We understand that everyone has the right to do with thair land as they sve fit, but | am making my request on behalf of public safety and peace of mind. we appreciate the opportunity to have my volce heard in this matter, and | will hopefully 9@ at the May 6 meeting ta once again voice my concern, | | ey UMD - Sree tebe na We purchased this horne 10 years ago from the Currie farnily matriaech, because of its peaceful country feel, We have pretty much lost what was left of that with this development, We understand that everyone has the right to de with their land ag they see fit, but we are making our request on behalf of public safety and peace of mind.
