our police department tenfold over what we had before. And behind me, Dave, the godfather of ground transportation is great. But Miss Larson has done a great job also. She’s been real good to welcome on board. She has a big man’s shoes to fill in. Stage-I appreciate your comments. Oberg-one more comment and that’s all for me. When do you foresee this vote going to the board? Stage/Stenson-end of August or early September. It’s probably going to be at the August 16th meeting or the following board meeting which is two weeks later in Sept. Asbell-since the signs were added for no rideshare, customers haven’t paid attention to those. I was wondering if we could put in on the announcement inside the airport since they would hear that better than reading the sign? Stage-I hear you, but we want to free that up from what it is right now. It’s a great comment but I’ve got to tell you, our law enforcement officers are out on the curb 90% of the day. Cotton-and they’re doing a great job. Stage-their offices overlook the curb. Asbell-the only ones that I see is Renee Hosh and David Bennett. All the rest of them must be hiding somewhere. Stage-no! Don’t say that! Asbell-cars were piling up on the curb last night, and another cop just stood there and did nothing about it. Stage-we appreciate all you guys have done. This is all in good faith, whether you believe it or not. I wouldn’t be inviting you to a county commissioner meeting if I didn’t mean it. Mihail of Crown Cab-if Uber comes, let’s say they come here paying $2.50 per pickup, can we get a lower permit price per year, like $250 or $300? Maybe that will level out things a little bit. Stage-that’s a great option, it’s on the table. David Gilchrist of D&D Shuttle-I have a friend that works at the DMV. Our taxis must be registered as a 9 class code (means commercial vehicle). But your personal car is a 1. If you’re picked up in a class code 9 car, you’re in a commercial vehicle. But an Uber car is registered as a 1. How’s that going to come into play? Stage-that’s a great point and that will be brought up at the board meeting. No other questions or comments so Mr. Stage adjourned meeting at 3:07 PM. Minutes of meeting approved by: Tracy Stage, A.A.E. Airports Director
