shaped, rectangular, and trapezoidal channels with the slope and roughness
coefficient. Equations shall be a two term polynomial equation. Area
velocity shall include round, U- shaped, rectangular, and trapezoidal
channels. Data points shall include up to 50 pairs of points to convert level
to flow rate or area. The software shall store four sets of data points for
4100 Series Flow Loggers and 4200 Series Flow Meters.
2) The software shall retrieve the primary device from 4100 Series Flow
Loggers, 4200 Series Flow Meters, and 6700 Series Samplers with 700
Series Flow Modules for use in converting level and velocity data into
flow rate-
vi) Sampler Setup
1) The software shall program the flow meter to enable a connected sampler.
The flow meter shall enable the sampler continuously, disable it
continuously, or enable it conditionally. The conditions for enabling a
sampler with a 4100 Series Flow Logger or 4200 Series Flow Meter shall
be selectable from the same types of conditions that are used to trigger a
triggered slate memory partition.
2) The software shall program the method by which the flow meter shall pace
a connected sampler. A 4100 Series Flow Logger or 4200 Series Flow
Meter shall either flow pace or trigger pace a sampler.
a) For flow pacing, the software shall program the volumetric interval at
which the flow meter shall send a signal to a connected sampler.
b) For trigger pacing, the software shall program a triggering condition
and two time pacing intervals, one that is used if the triggering
condition is true and one that is used if the triggering condition is false.
The conditions for trigger pacing shall be selectable from the same

partition.
vii) Units —The software shall set the units of measure for level, velocity, flow
rate, total flow, rainfall, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, and temperature.
viii) Dialout Alarms —The software shall set the alarm dialout conditions for a
4100 Series Flow Logger or 4200 Series Flow Meter'. The software shall
accept up to 5 telephone numbers, plus a delay between calls and an enable for
call back for acknowledgment. The alarm dialout condition shall be selectable
from the same types of conditions that are used to trigger a triggered slate
memory partition.
B) 2100 SERIES FLOW MODULES
i) All setup information, and the last value of all measurements before the
computer was disconnected, shall be visible, even when the computer is not
connected to the flow module.
ii) For faster data retrieval, the software shall be able to turn off flow rate data
storage in the module(s). The software shall calculate flow offline, using the
computer to convert 2100 series level data, or level and velocity data, into a
flow rate, and store it in a data set. New data retrieval shall automatically
update the data set.
iii) Measurements —Upon connection to a flow module, the software shall display
the site name and the measurements from each of up to 4 connected modules,
which can include level, velocity, flow rate, flow rate 2, total flow, total flow
2, average flow, and input voltage.
iv) Site Information —The software shall set the site name, and the instrument
date and time in the flow module.
v) Module Information —The software shall display the module name, model
name, model number, software revision, and hardware revision of each
connected module. The software shall allow the user to change the module
name, and illuminate the LED on each module, so that the particular module
can be identified.
v) Data Storage
1) The software shall allow the user to specify the data storage for level,
velocity, flow rate, flow rate 2, total flow, total flow 2, and input voltage.
The data shall be stored in rollover mode, with readings stored in memory
continuously. When the memory is full, the oldest reading shall be
replaced by the newest reading. The data storage shall support variable rate
data storage, with the data storage rate switching back and forth between a
primary rate and a secondary rate, dependent upon whether or not a
programmed condition is met. The primary and secondary storage rates
shall be selectable from off, 15 or 30 seconds, 1, 2, 5, 15, or 30 minutes, or
1, 2, 4, 12, or 24 hours. The primary and secondary storage rates shall be

Equation Builder. The software shall allow the user to specify how
frequently the programmed condition is to be checked to determine
whether or not the data storage rate is to change. The software shall allow
the user to delete all data in the memory of a selected module.
2) For each connected module, the software shall display the maximum
number of readings that the module can store, the percentage of the
memory that is currently utilized, the date and time of the oldest reading in
the memory, and the number of data types being stored. For each data type
being stored, the software shall display the primary and secondary storage
rates, the date and time of the most recent reading, the number of stored
readings, and the percentage of readings that are valid.
3) Stored data and measurement diagnostics retrieved from 2100 Flow
Modules shall be stored in an industry standard Microsoft Access
database.
vii) Measurement Setup
1) The software shall allow the user to change the units of measure for the
level measurement, and to adjust the level measurement to the current
level in the flow stream. The software shall display the date and time that
the level was last adjusted.
2) The software shall allow the user to change the units of measure for the
velocity measurement, and to set the zero level offset, set flow rate to zero
if no velocity data, and prevent interference from other velocity
measurements settings. The software shall display signal strength and
spectrum strength diagnostics from the last 10 valid and the last 10 invalid
velocity measurements.
3) The software shall allow the user to set up 2 independent flow rate
measurements. The software shall allow the user to change the units of
measure and to enter a flow conversion for each flow rate measurement.
Flow conversions shall include weirs, flumes, the Manning formula,
equations, area velocity, and data points. Weis shall include V- notch,
rectangular with and without end contractions, Cipolletti, Isco Flow
Metering Inserts, and Thel -Mar Weirs. Flumes shall include Parshall,
Palmer -Bowlus, Leopold- Lagco, HS, H, HL, and trapezoidal. The
Manning formula shall include round, U- shaped, rectangular, and
trapezoidal channels with the slope and roughness
