9 4. Data
a. The software shall allow the user to specify the data storage for every measured

parameter. The data shall be stored in to ova mode, with readings stored in memory
continuously. When the memory is full, the oldest reading shall be replaced by the newest
reading. The data storage shall support variable rate data storage, where the storage rate
can switch between a primary and secondary rate, dependent upon programmed
conditions. The primary and secondary storage rates shall be selectable from off, 15 or 30
seconds, 1, 2, 5, 15, or 30 minutes, or 1, 2, 4, 12, or 24 hours. The primary and secondary
storage rates shall be triggered by site conditions defined by an equation.
Refer to 8 Equation Builder. The software shall allow the user to specify how frequently
the programmed condition is to be checked to determine whether or not the data storage
rate is to change. The software shall allow the user to delete all data in the memory of a
selected module.
b. For each connected module, the software shall display the maximum number of readings
that the module can store, the percentage of the memory that is currently utilized, the date
and time of the oldest reading in the memory, and the number of data types being stored.
For each data type being stored, the software shall display the primary and secondary
storage rates, the date and time of the most recent reading, the number of stored readings,
and the percentage of readings that are valid.
c. Stored data and measurement diagnostics retrieved from 2100 Flow Modules shall be
stored in an industry standard Microsoft Access database.
Measurement Details
a. The software shall allow the user to change the units of measure for the level
measurement, and to adjust the level reading to the current level in the flow stream. The
software shall display the date and time that the level was last adjusted.
b. The software shall allow the user to change the units of measure for the velocity
measurement, and to set the zero level offset, set flow rate to zero if no velocity data, and
prevent interference from other velocity measurements settings. The software shall
display signal strength and spectrum strength diagnostics from the last ten valid and the
last 10 invalid velocity measurements.
c. The software shall allow the user to set up two independent flow rate measurements. The
software shall allow the user to change the units of measure and to enter a flow
conversion for each flow rate measurement. Flow conversions shall include weirs,
flumes, the Manning formula, equations, area velocity, and data points. Weirs shall
include V-notch, rectangular with and without end contractions, Cipolletti, Isco Flow
Metering Inserts, and Thel -Mar Weirs. Flumes shall include Parshall, Palmer -Bowles,
Leopold- Lagco, HS, H, HL, and trapezoidal. The Manning formula shall include round,
U-shaped, rectangular, and trapezoidal channels with the slope and roughness coefficient.
Equations shall be a two term polynomial equation. Area velocity shall include round, U-
shaped, rectangular, trapezoidal, and elliptical channels, with a correction for silt level.
Data points shall include up to 50 pairs of points to convert level to flow rate, or level to
area.
d. The software shall allow the user to setup two independent total flow calculations. For
each total flow calculation, the software shall allow the user to change the units of
measure, zero the totalizer, select the flow rate measurement upon which the total flow
calculation shall be based, set the total flow calculation to either totalize net, positive or

e. The software shall display the remaining battery capacity, based on Eveready Energizer
Alkaline Lamcm Batteries.
6. Alarms
a. The software shall enable the user to program Isco modem modules to issue dial -out text
message alarms to cellular phones and pagers. Alarms shall be triggered by site
conditions defined by an equation. Refer to 8 Equation Builder.
7. Power Management
a. The software shall be capable of turning Ism cellular modems and the 2102 wireless
transmitter on or off, depending on site conditions defined by an equation. When the
conditions of the equation are true, the site shall turn the modem on. When false, the
modem is not powered to conserve battery power. Refer to 8 Equation Builder.
8. Equation Builder
a. An equation building and editing tool shall be used to create equations for various site
conditions from one or more 2100 modules within a system. These equations can be used
to generate alarms, log or push measurement data at secondary rates, enable an Isco
sampler, and conserve power by turning on equipment only when needed.
b. The triggering event shall be an AND /OR combination of one or more conditions, where
each condition shall be based on selected available parameters measured by the system.
Each condition other than time shall be either greater than or equal to a set point, less
than or equal to a set point, or a rate of change over a time period. A duration operator
shall be available to modify the condition. A time condition shall include up to four start
and stop time periods, where each time period shall be either daily, weekly, Monday
through Friday, or a specific time. A NOT operator shall be used to modify any condition .
other than time. Parentheses shall be used to group conditions.
9. Modbus Input
a. The software shall be capable of configuring a 2105 /C /G Interface Module for retrieval
of data from devices using Modbus ASCII or Modbus RTU protocol.'
10. Sampler Control
a. The software shall be capable of configuring a 2105 /C/ G Interface Module to enable
and/ or pace an Isco wastewater sampler. I
C. PULSE DOPPLER FLOW METERS
1. The software shall be able to import, export, display, and analyze Pulse Doppler data
collected with Flowlink and WinADFM software ( formerly used with Pulse Doppler
instruments).
2. Site Information
a. Upon connection to a site, the software shall display and allow editing of the instrument' s
stored site name, date and time, and GPS information.
3. Devices
a. The software shall display the site name, model, firmware version, and system voltage.
The software shall allow the user to change the instrument name.
