2 Maximum allowable level: 20 feet or greater
4. 1. 3 Minimum accuracy: 0.010 feet / foot for levels of 0. 03 feet to
5 feet ± 0. 012 feet / foot for levels > 5 feet
4. l.4 Temperature coefficient: 0.0035 feet / degree F over range of 320 to
122° F
4. 1. 5 Long term drift shall not exceed 0.03 feet.
4. 2 A hydrophobic filter shall be used to protect the level sensor from atmospheric
moisture. The level sensor shall be factory calibrated from 0 —10 feet at 1 foot increments to ensure
linearity throughout measurement range. To ensure accuracy during surcharge events, field span
calibration will not be required or accepted.
4. 3
The sensor span shall be factory calibrated across the specified temperature range
and shall not require temperature stabilization time. The sensor shall be temperature characterized
across the entire temperature range of the transducer to ensure long tern stability, even in dry flow
applications.
4.4
Sensor materials exposed to the flow stream shall be epoxy, stainless steel, polyvinyl
chloride (PVC), or chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC).
5. OPERATING TEMPERATURE RANGE
The flow monitor shall be capable of operating within a temperature range of 00 to 140 °F for a
prolonged period without incidence of failure. Submerged sensors shall be capable of operating
within a temperature range of 320 to 140 °F for a prolonged period without incidence of failure.

6. DATA STORAGE Y
aN
6. 1
The flow monitor shall store, at a minimum, 60 days of velocity and level data
collected at 15 minute intervals, with the ability for the monitor to automatically adjust its data
recording intervals to as frequent as 15 seconds, based on one of several conditions, including level,
velocity, flow rate and input voltage. This is necessary to ensure that more readings are taken
during storm event flows where precise data is critical.
6. 2 Data stored shall include, at a minimum, depth of flow, velocity, and flow rate.
6. 3
Data shall be stored in non- volatile memory so that no data is lost when programs
are changed or glitches occur in the monitor. If firmware changes are made, the monitor shall
maintain all its data, programming and calibration information.
6.4 When data storage is full, new data shall overwrite the oldest stored data.
7. BATTERIES
7. 1
The flow monitor shall be powered by standard ( 18 amp / hour) or commercial
26 amp / hour) 6 Volt alkaline lantern batteries or by special batteries with the following
consideration:
7. 1. 1 Regardless of the battery type, one battery or one pair of batteries installed
simultaneously, whichever is required to power the monitor shall have sufficient capacity to
power the monitor for the collection of data at 15 minute intervals for 60 days.
8. WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS & SOFTWARE
8. 1 Flow monitor setup shall be accomplished via serial connection to a PC or remotely
via cellular communications.
8. 2 The software provided for data retrieval and monitor setup shall, at a minimum,
have the following capabilities:
8. 2. 1 Calculate and display average, max, and min flows
8.2.2 Readily display velocity, depth, and flow rate data in hydrographs, scatter
graphs and tubular format
8. 2.3 Real -time readings occur automatically once connected and are updated
within 15 seconds typically.
8. 2.4 Software shall allow for immediate/real time graphics in order to field crews
to easily determine if sensor or system needs service.
8. 2.5 Can import and plot other monitor manufacturer' s data, such as, rain data,
etc.
8.2. 6 Multiple hydrographs can be shown on one chart.
8.2. 7 Dry weather and wet weather hydrographs; can be shown on one chart, in
addition to, plotting the difference of wet and dry weather flows.
8.2.8 Is compatible with all current Microsoft PC operating systems
8. 2.9 Easily export flow monitoring data to MS Excel

8. 3 The software provided with the monitors shall be licensed for use on two desktop
computers and an unlimited number of laptop computers. Upon purchasing the software, the City
shall have unlimited use of the software, forever, without any requirement, whatsoever, to purchase
annual licenses, maintenance plans, technical support or use authorization codes. Once purchased,
the software shall be the property of the City. Technical support shall be famished via email,
phone, or mail for as long as needed at no additional cost. The City shall receive upgrades to the
software as is necessary for the software to remain compatible with future Microsoft operating
systems. There shall be no cost for minor software upgrades or upgrades to maintain compatibility
with Microsoft operating systems.
8. 4 Four copies of software user' s manuals shall be furnished with the software.
9. SENSOR MOUNTING HARDWARE
9. 1 Sensor mounting rings shall be fabricated in 316 stainless steel and designed to hold
sensors rigid in the flow. Rings shall come with all hardware necessary to mount the sensor in the
pipe.
9.2 The unit bid price for each mounting ring assembly shall include the ring,
extensions, sensor mounts, and all other hardware necessary to properly mount the sensor in the
pipe of the identified diameter.
30. WARRANTY
10. 1 The warranties below shall apply to the original monitors, sensors, mounting rings,
cables, and other ancillary items related thereto. The warranties shall also apply to any purchase of
the aforementioned items in the future. These warranties shall be provided by the manufacturer of
the flow monitoring equipment.
102 The flow monitor and all associated accessories, except flow sensors, shall have a 12
month warranty covering parts, labor, and shipping from the date of installation. Any flow monitor
component or accessory that fails under normal service to meet the manufacturer' s specifications
within a 12 month period shall be repaired or replaced by the manufacturer at no expense to the
City.
10.3 The velocity and depth sensors shall have a 24 month warranty that covers parts,
labor, and shipping costs from the date of purchase. Any sensor that fails under normal service to
meet the manufacturer' s performance specifications within a 24 month period shall be repaired or
replaced by the manufacturer at no expense to the City.
10.4 Warranty service in accordance with Item 1 above shall be provided when damage
to monitors, sensors, etc. is caused by hydrogen sulfide.

10.5 Extended warranties shall he available on any part of the flow monitoring system.
Extended warranties shall be for a minimum of a 12 month period. The cost of the extended n
warranty shall not exceed 10 percent of the purchase price of the item under warranty.
11. TRAINING
11. 1 Classroom and field training shall be provided to the City on the use and care of the
flow monitors and software. All functionality of the flow monitor and software shall be covered in
the training. One training session shall be included in the price of the monitors.
12. LEAD TIME
12. 1 Upon receiving a Purchase Order from the City, the vendor shall deliver the flow
monitoring equipment within ten ( 10) business days. The manufacturer' s field technician or factory
trained representative shall also be available for monitor installations within fifteen ( 15) business
