When businesses grow they stimulate more taxes for the local governments who in turn can provide better services for their constituents.Florida offers over twenty business incentives to new and expanding targeted businesses in an effort to retain and attract the very best employers to our State. The EDC is the primary local coordinator for many of these business incentive programs which include Defense Grants, Tax Exemptions, Tax Credits and the Florida Enterprise Zone Program. Many of these pro- grams are introduced when the prospect is evaluating whether to make his or her investment in our area as opposed to making this same investment in another state. www.florida -edc.org 1. 800. 995. 7374 10 PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES The Defense Support Initiative DSI Mission Statement To support and promote the local military installations and their positive economic contributions to the tri- county area while maintaining and nurturing the relationships with the civilian communities that house them.
