STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the Proclamation designating the week of May
18-24, 2014, as Emergency Medical Services Week.
BACKGROUND: National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week brings together local
communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who
provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine's front line. May 18-24, 2014, has been
designated as EMS Week with the theme, "EMS: Dedicated. For Life."
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the Proclamation for EMS Week from May 18-24, 2014.
