SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Renewal for the purchase of specialized Polymers

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: OCWS staff requests BCC approval of a contract renewal with Fort
Bend Services, Inc. for the purchase of a specialized polymer (FBS C1282) used in the sludge
thickening and dewatering process at the Arbennie Pritchett Water Reclamation Facility
(APRWF). This will be the first renewal of three for contract C12-1935-WS.
BACKGROUND: OCWS uses polymer FBS C1282 for sludge thickening and dewatering at
the APWRF. OCWS and Fort Bend Services entered into contract for the purchase of polymer
FBS C1282 in January of 2012. The OCWS department has completed the "Contract/Lease
Renewal Form" and the "Contract/Lease Internal Coordination Sheet" has been completed. Due
to the annual value of the contract (approximately $275,000.00), we are requesting Board
authorization for the first of three annual renewals.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends BCC approval of a Contract Renewal with Fort
Bend Services for the purchase of a specialized polymer.
