STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Purchasing seeks authorization from the Board to auction surplus
items.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The County has surplus items that are ready for disposal.
(List attached.) Purchasing is seeking authorization from the Board to auction these items
through our contracted auctioneer Global Enterprises (C14-2104-PUR). Auctioning the surplus
items continues a profitable way for the County to dispose of property, equipment and
miscellaneous items. Auction proceeds to date are $51,799.25. (Does not include $46,557 for
Tourist Development Department items.) Surplus items for this sale are proposed to post the end
of May.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove auction of surplus items through Global Enterprises.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approving auction of surplus items through Global
Enterprises.
